Mr. Buntyn grew up in nearby Plano, and holds a Bachelors of Music Education
degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Mr. Buntyn began his teaching career in Richardson, Texas where he was
choir director at Lake Highlands Junior High for 4 years. During his tenure,
the LHJH choir program grew from 113 students to over 150. In addition to
consistent sweepstakes ratings, Mr. Buntyn’s choirs have been Outstanding in
Class and Outstanding in Class Runner Up at the Hurricane Harbor competition
in Arlington, Texas. At Ereckson, all of Mr. Buntyn choirs have been
Sweepstakes choirs, won Superior ratings at Hurricane Harbor Competition,
and both the Ereckson Boys Choir and Ereckson Ovation were Outstanding in
Class in 2005.
Mr. Buntyn has held church music director positions and was most currently
the music director at Wellspring UMC in McKinney, Texas. Mr. Buntyn is
currently the chorus director for the Allen Symphony Chorus. His is also a
member of the Texas Choral Directors and Texas Music Educators associations
as well as the Association of Texas Professional Educators.
Mr. Buntyn, his wife Kimberly, and their son Jacob live in Plano.
