earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education as well as a Master's
Degree in Music Performance from Texas Tech University in Lubbock.
Before coming to Allen, he taught in Garland and Wylie. He also serves
as the Music Director for Buckingham United Methodist Church in Garland,
a position he has held for the past 11 years.
Mr. McKinney's choirs have consistently received sweepstakes and
outstanding choral performance awards at UIL and in festivals in Toronto,
New York, Nashville, Houston, New Orleans, and Breckenridge. In
addition to teaching, he has also had the great opportunity to perform in
many venues. He has been able to perform as a soloist with the Lubbock
Symphony, El Paso Symphony, Sante Fe Orchestra, and with members of
the Dallas Wind Symphony. He has been a member of Orpheus Chamber
Singers and the Dallas Bach Society.
While at Texas Tech University he was involved in some 30+ shows and
has gone on to appear in many other productions throughout the years.
Mr. McKinney has performed with Dallas Summer Musicals, Fort Worth's
Cana Mañana, St. Louis's bMuny Theater, Atlanta's Fox Theater, Kansas
City's Starlight Theater, and Boston's North Shore Theater.
